Earl finds enjoyment and satisfaction working within his surroundings, awareness of the natural elements allow him to branch out into various creative outlets. The freedom to express his personal views through his artwork has always been his passion. Throughout his artistic career he has done freelance graphic design, illustrations, design and creation of banners (both small and large), mobiles, paintings, sketches, photography, and right down to the smallest ink or lino block drawings.
Earl’s work has been featured in group exhibits as well as solo shows, but where he gets true satisfaction is creating art installations in the natural, beautiful setting nature provides. He is known to display interesting elements in nature – this can include cogs wedged within the grooves of a tree trunk, coloured rocks in a trickling brook, or mobiles hanging from tree limbs. Feeding off the natural beauty nature has to offer, accenting Mother Nature with his personal artistic touch, is just another way Earl expresses his endless artistic abilities.
Being an environmentally conscience person, Earl finds materials and items to incorporate in his art work from his surrounds. Found paper, wood, string, feathers, animal bones and other objects he might find along his jouneys – well for Earl it is and finding these treasures to reuse, puts words into action, showing he truly does care about the footprint he leaves behind.
Earl supports group environmental efforts, taking part in rallies to protect forests, helping raise awareness of climate change and other social challenges that greatly affect our world and communities. For now, he is trying to focus his efforts on his creative work, teaching yoga and continually looking for art supplies in nature and around the city.
